Sammy was the most gentle, smart, compasionate and dedicated kitty in our family. He was "Boss of the Woods."He made friends with everyone and always purrred loudly.He was known throughout the neighborhood and all the neighbors loved him and welcomed him in their homes for a snack.He was so loving and friendly. Sammy, always know how much we love you and miss you and that you will never ever be forgotten,our house is empty without you buddy..we love you forever.Run and play with Sabrina and look down on us as you enjoy your peace and freedom up above with the stars. The puppy mill did not break you and you are now laughing as the noose grows tighter around their ugly necks as awarness increases. The house is so empty today - and so cold. Well, today is the day.... You left this earth to go live with Susie. You will never know what you meant to me... When there was NO ONE that could talk to me or heal my pain, YOU were the one that was always there. Regardless where you were, you would ALWAYS come to the barn. I learned so many things from you. Trust, love, pain.... You put the love for horses in my wonderful daughters. Every horse will be Bubba to Maya. You were her favorite, it will hurt me so much to hear your name, BUT know that you will nevre be forgotten and that you were loved, you were like my child. If love could have saved you, you would be here today. we miss you dearly and we are SO happy you touched our lives in your sweet and special way. You are the sweetest, kindest horse I have ever known in my life, you deserved the love, care and dignity we gave you in the time we had together. You were always so cute when you ate your baby carrots and cut up apples. I loved to hear your sweet nicker to say "Hi Momma" "You're home let's eat". I pray that one like you touches someone like you touched us...You will always be our Hero!!! I hope and pray that i can somehow find another horse even remotely close to you. I might look the rest of my life, but know no horse will ever take YOUR place!!!! You will never be forgotten or replaced! I may no longer brush your beautiful mane or just hug your sweet loving neck. I can no longer hear your welcome nicker as I walk to the barn...I can only remember how sweet it was, and how it made me smile to hear it. I miss you dear friend, I miss you more than words can say...

They were ours as a gift, but never to keep,
As they close their eyes forever to sleep.
Their spirits unbound,
On silver wings they fly.
A million white horses,
Against the blue sky.
Look up into heaven,
You'll see them above.
The horses we lost,
The horses we loved.
Manes and tails flowing,
As they gallop through time,
They were never yours- they were never mine.
Don't cry for the horses,
They'll be back some day.
When our time is gone,
They will show us the way.
Do you hear that soft nicker?
Close to your ear?
Don't cry for the horses,
Love the ones that are here.
I owed him a debt i could never repay, that in the very least for all he had done and been for me. But oh how I ache. This january day is forever engraved on my heart. I have had other horses and loved them dearly but none will ever fill the aching void that lies deep within me. There is nothing in the world like losing a horse you have connected with completely. Having Bubba in my life was both one of the most amazing experiences and the most heart-wrenching that I have ever been through. Bubba may have been a horse, but he was also a friend. Friends cant be replaced.
You can't love and connect with a horse and not know what spiritual beings they are. No matter what our individual idea of heaven may be, we know that our horse's spirit never dies. All you have to do is listen to your heart and there it is...that sound that keeps your horse close and brings peace to your spirit...that cherished sound of hoofbeats in heaven.
Bubba your hoofbeats are in my heart forever!!!!
